Overall a good experience. Food was spot on, i had scrambled eggs on toast she had eggs benedict and she stated it was very nice and shes a bit of an eggs benedict snob. Drinks were well prepared, the lattes were silky smooth and the right balance of coffee to milk. So why 4 stars rather than 5... I know it some kind of accepted norm nowdays but im really not, and never will be a fan of any food establishment that allows dogs inside its just not for me and my other half can get a reaction to dog hair. Also £1.20 for syrup in coffee is bonkers! Oddly the alternative milk was only 40p so i tried to justify it by thinking its really 80p for each component, although thats still on the expensive side but more acceptable than £1.20 for one component. Staff were friendly throught out and the food was enough to inspire us to add quirky bird to our brunch rosta. Our overall bill was £24.30 so not too bad!

Popped in today for a vegan teacake and a cuppa. Lovely atmosphere and decor, with plenty of vegan options. There's outdoor seating too so next time I'll bring my dog. A very pleasant visit, thank you.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Quirky Bird Cafe, a charming cafe opposite Chalkwell Park. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor is tasteful and cozy, creating the perfect environment for a relaxing meal. The food at The Quirky Bird Cafe is nothing short of exceptional. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast that left me eagerly planning my next visit. We had the Eggs Royale and a traditional breakfast, both of which were incredibly tasty. The meat in the traditional breakfast was lean and perfectly cooked without any fat. The menu offers a great variety of options, all clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each dish was beautifully presented. The staff at The Quirky Bird Cafe make you feel at home. They are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing excellent service. It's clear that they take great pride in their work, which enhances the overall dining experience. In addition to the superb food and outstanding service, the proximity to the local park adds a lovely touch. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before or after a peaceful stroll through the park. Overall, I highly recommend The Quirky Bird Cafe to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this cafe is a gem worth discovering. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!

Highly recommend this lovely café. Staff were welcoming and helpful from the start. The menu was really broad and had something for everyone. I was lucky enough to order the Salmon bake, absolutely delicious. The value for money is great, given the high standards of food and customer service this is a place we will keep returning to. Thank you Quirky Bird!

Came in today with my partner for a lamb Sunday roast and it was probably the best Sunday roast we’ve had in Southend! Highly recommend coming here if you want a hearty home cooked roast. The ladies were amazing, the service was great as was the atmosphere and the chef cooking should be super proud of her food! We will definitely be back!

Had the Eggs Benedict and bubble and squeak with a black pudding, the breakfast menu had a good choice. Great bubble , one of my eggs was cooked through the other runny and the hollandaise sauce wasn't home made but good enough. The portion of black pudding was a little on the small side though.

What a gem of a cafe. The food is very good and staff are lovely too. I can honestly say it was the best fry up I’ve had in a cafe. Tasted my partners meal and pastry and the chips were crispy and delicious and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. Can’t wait to go back to taste their roasts.
